Dr. Josh Muir

DDS, AAID, ABOI

Dr. Josh hails from a small town in Idaho where his family still runs a farm. After obtaining a business degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho, he pursued dentistry at Ohio State University. While at OSU, he was elected as class president, served on the curriculum and admissions committees, and even participated in a 102-mile bike race to raise money for cancer research. During dental school, Josh also obtained certification in IV sedation through Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. After graduating from OSU, he continued his dental training through the Augusta, Georgia, Veterans Medical Center, where he served as the chief resident and studied dental implants, surgery, and prosthodontics. His advanced training has enabled him to provide patients with numerous services under one roof. Josh firmly believes in staying up-to-date with dentistry. As an implant dentist, he is board-certified and a member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) and the American Board of Oral Implantology (ABOI). He is also the only dental implant diplomat in all of Montana. This means that he has invested a considerable amount of time and energy into training focused on dental implants, beyond basic dental education and even specialist education. To become a diplomate with the AAID and ABOI, there are specific requirements, which include:

– A minimum of 670 continuing education hours, with 300 focused on implantology training
– Seven or more years of experience with dental implants
– Rigorous examination of cases to measure competency
– Graduation from a 2-year implantology program, board certification, or an in-depth written and oral examination

When you visit Dr. Josh, you can rest assured that you are receiving care that is backed by years of experience, training, and expertise. Josh feels fortunate to have lived in several parts of the country but is happy to be back in the West where he can call Montana his home. He and his wife, Krystal, enjoy spending time outdoors and are excited to explore the new places that Montana has to offer.
